The Analysis Committee of the European Brewery Convention (EBC) decided to carry out an inter-laboratory collaborative trial to determine the accuracy and precision of a new spectrophotometric method for the determination of ?-glucans in malt wort. The new method is based on the photometric assay of a ?-glucan-dye-complex of the soluble malt ?-glucans.
